(Views: 900)Ha noi, Vietnam (November 22, 2014)
-- In the recent years, the society has shown a more progressive and
accurate view of the roles of women in the economic development. More
and more Vietnamese women participate in the economic growth of the
country by engaging in livelihood activities and businesses, which used
to be seen only as the role of men.
In
recognition to many Vietnamese women who redefined beauty through
exemplifying strength, intelligence, and responsibility, a fashion show
entitled “Creative Micro-Entrepreneur – Potentials unleashed” were held
on November 22, 2014 at the Center for Women and Development. This
fashion show was supported by the Canadian Cooperative Association and
participated by three local Vietnamese organizations namely: Tinh Thuong
Microfinance Institution (TYM) – Vietnam Women Union, Community Finance
Resource Center (CFRC) and Microfinance and Community Development
Institute (MACDI). CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), a
social development organization in the Philippines, will be coordinating
the fashion show.
Clients
of the three Vietnamese organizations, which were mostly women
entrepreneurs, walked the ramp to showcase traditional, modern, and
ethnic clothes. Each collection featured in the fashion show was a
reflection of the various business activities of Vietnamese women and
the characteristics of the regions in the northern part of Vietnam.
Product displays and musical performances were also be held during the event.
Below are some pictures from the show.
