Operational areas

1) Microfinance 
   - Cooperation for policy advocacy; creating a legal environment for the development of microfinance; setting up sustainably financial standards and promoting them to apply for microfinance organizations or for organizations that have microfinance programs. 
- Providing model-design services, conducting microfinance programs as well as supervising and evaluating services. 
- Building capacity and diversifying products for microfinance organizations. 
- Supporting microfinance programs to transform into legal organizations, be ready for the integration into the flow of Vietnam formal microfinance. 

2) Microinsurance 
    - Participating in researching and building up microinsurance policies for low-income clients. 
  - Consulting and designing standard models for microinsurance. 
  - Drafting documents and training materials for managing staff of microinsurance, training on trainers (TOT) and training on clients 
  - Setting up strategy plan and business plan for microinsurance 
  - Monitoring, supervising performance and evaluating results of microinsurance programs.
 

 3) Technical assistance 
- Supporting in the application of technique’s innovation into practice of microfinance as well as agriculture-forestry-fishery, non-agriculture areas. 
- Designing software for microfinance and microinsurance management, training IT staff and applying softwares for M7network’s members. 


4) Building capacity 
- Training and building capacity for local staff, focusing on women and ethnic communities at mountainous areas, contributing for a society of learning. 
- Issuing bulletins, setting up websites to promote images of CFRC and its partners
5) Policy advocacy 

CFRC has been actively lobbying for better legal environment for microfinance and micro-insurance by various approaches such as: contributing to drafts of legal documents prepared by functional agencies of the government or National Assembly, ministries; developing mechanism and policy for special types of organization and submitting to the Prime Minister; organizing local, national and regional seminars and forums; publishing bulletins and reports; through our website or other public media channels including newspaper and television.  
CFRC has successfully assisted the transformation of Dong Trieu Fund into a registered social fund
